Elissa Fulks – CEO & Administrative Director

I am native to Mexico yet settled in USA in 1994. I began my studies in classical dance in Baja California, Mexico when I was 8 years old and continued developing my dancing abilities based on English techniques from the “Imperial Society of England” as well as from the “Royal Academy of England” in the USA. I concluded my 13 year long learning career of classical dance with the Russian technique, Vaganova and am profoundly thankful to my forever talented instructor, Tatiana Shevchenko, Prima Bailarina of the prestigious Ballet Kiev in Russia.

When I was 21 years old I was motivated by my dance instructors to participate in auditions held in Los Angeles, Ca. for the “Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández”. With the audition number of “236,” I won 1st place amongst 400 other competitors as well a scholarship to be part of the Escuela del Ballet Folklorico de México de Amalia Hernández .

In 1990 I began my repertoire of studies in the school of “Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández”. This invitation was later extended to be part of "the experimental group" whom would give me the opportunity to participate in the very prestigious “Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández” in the years to come.

Now with great pride, I have the honor to represent a patrimony in The United States and in The World. This comes from the most precious extension of Ballet Folklorico de México's Founder, Amalia Hernández's most valued Legacy and creation; her daughter and my dear friend Amalia V. B. Hernández. She is the Artistic Director and former principal dancer of “Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández,” and also Founder and Artistic Director of the new “Ballet de México de Amalia V. B. Hernández” based in USA.
